Why CareGap builds on 1health
Ary Karvani, co-founder of CareGap, shares how they built a complete donor eligibility platform on 1health.
Building healthcare apps on 1health
Speakers: Ary Karvani
Ary Karvani (0:00): Hi everybody, my name is Aryan. I'm the co-founder of CareGap, and I'm proud to say we build on top of 1health. One of the things we have built is a complete donor eligibility platform.
(0:10) Here's a problem. Any company making products from human cells or tissue has to vet, screen, test, and validate every donor under FDA HCT/P rules. Most early stage companies are doing this on Google Forms or spreadsheets. We built the real thing for Muse Bio. Donors apply, consent, get screened, get a kit shipped to their house, get tested, get results — self-service, no clinic visit required, end to end. And the reason we went live in months instead of years is 1health. 1health helped us tremendously.
(0:47) The Quest Diagnostics integration was already there. Building that ourselves is a six months to a year process, easily. Their multi-tenant setup meant onboarding a virtual physician was basically checking a box, and each one gets their own portal to review orders coming back from the lab.
(1:02) We're bringing that platform to other tissue banks and cell-based companies — same regulations, same problems, already solved. Thank you.
About CareGap
CareGap is a healthcare partner studio that takes wellness, diagnostics, and supplement concepts from idea to deployed product on the 1health platform. The studio packages the experience end-to-end — kit packaging, branded online portals, lab integrations, clinical reports tuned to each brand's tone, and fulfillment logistics from sample collection to results delivery.
Brands working with CareGap get to own every customer touchpoint while skipping the 12-18 months of compliance, lab connectivity, and infrastructure work that normally comes with launching a lab-integrated product. CareGap brings the operating layer; the brand brings the audience and the clinical thesis.
Five consumer health and longevity brands have shipped or extended on 1health through CareGap: NutriVue (at-home functional medicine testing with three blood draws per year), Manifold Health (AI-native biological intelligence platform for longitudinal health modeling, formerly known as Lumen), Muse Bio (a regenerative medicine company built on menstrual stem cells — already a 1health case study), Niagen Bioscience (NASDAQ: NAGE — the publicly-traded NAD+ science company behind Tru Niagen, the #1 healthy-aging NAD+ supplement in the U.S.), and Thorne (premium health and wellness brand).
